This is the Carver CT-30 that was supposed to be their top of the line preamp in 1997. Unfortunately they ran into supplier problems and these were never produced in quantity or released for sale to the public. These units have amazing sound quality and work very well. They have dual zone capabilities and special surround circuits and good bass management also. There is Dolby Pro Logic surround built in and a 5.1 DB-25 input connector for an external Dolby Digial processor but none is built in. Also included is a 5 foot gold connector cable to go from the DB-25 input to 6 RCA plugs. These were sold only to Carver employees with the stipulation that if they sold them they must tell the buyer that they are fisrt run units, essentially prototypes. I think only avbout 35 were ever made. The THX logos were removed because they never had time to get them certified. I have one of these units for sale. It is excellent cosmetically and electrically and sounds great. I will allow a 5 day no DOA warrenty to give the buyer time to test the unit. No other warrenties apply,
